Xbox One and the Future of Weight loss is here

So for those that have read the blog in the past my intention was to use the Xbox 360 and Kinect on a daily basis and record my weight loss , muscle increase, etc.  The problem is the first generation Kinect was not powerful or accurate enough to give me the readings I wanted.

However, with the release of Xbox One and the Kinect 2.0 that comes with it things are about to change.  There is an app on the Xbox One called Xbox fitness.  The app contains some of the most popular workout programs out there and they are FREE for Xbox Live subscribers.  I did my very first one just now called Ripped in 30 minutes with Jillian Michaels. How was it?

It kicked my ass that's how it was. :)  Right now my weight is hovering around 250lbs.  The heaviest I have ever been and at 6' not the healthiest by a long shot.  I knew I would be winded but this was no joke.  I certainly look forward to seeing how I progress as I continue the work outs.  Aside from the program the new Kinect actually works!  It was able to track my heart rate, my muscle flexing, where my weight was distributed and more.  It felt as though Jillian was in the room and telling me what to fix since the Kinect knew where I was slacking.

In short if you are a fitness buff or someone looking to lose weight I am ma huge believer of the new Xbox One, Kinect 2.0 and the Xbox Fitness app.  From this point forward look here weekly for my input on the program, how it went and the status of my health as I go through this process.
